My primary off-hours project is RPTools.
Check it out, it's pretty awesome.
The real draw for me is twofold. First, I love writing graphics-centric programming.
The second is the community. The community that has grown around MapTool
is vibrant, active, and very colorful. They keep things fresh and moving forward.
MapTool is the flagship.
It's Swing based so runs on Windows, Linux, and OSX.
It has some features that are unique amongst its competitors, such as dynamic line of sight and light calculations,
and has other features that only a few others have, such as an unbounded map size (think zooming from a continent down
to an ant hill).

My other hobby is fine woodworking, although at this point it's still more like "average" woodworking.
Although within the past couple months I've actually passed a milestone where I'm not just creating
sawdust in my shop, but shapes are actually starting to form.
I initially picked up woodworking from my grandfather when I was a teen. Over the years I'd pick
up a tool here and there, until I had a small functional shop. When we moved in 2006 one of the stipulations
was that we get a yard big enough to build a small shop. Unfortunately the biggest I could build was 12x10.
But I'm very happy with it. I've been learning skills from books and a variety of online resources and
am starting to get the hang of it, and still have all 10 fingers :)
